Product Description
Sand composed of olivine is an ideal mineral intended for application during the manufacturing process of manganese steel castings in this form chemically less reactive than silica sand. Sio2 reacts with mno within the metal to develop a mnsio3 slag resulting in serious burn on defects. A further advantage is this unique olivine sand features a low thermal expansion rate compared to sand infused with silica and its high thermal shock resistance furthermore reduces sand expansion problems.
