The frame is a self straining frame, Where no load is transferred to the ground apart from it is dead burden of the frame. This frame is known alternatively as reaction frame. The frame normally has 4 columns interlocked with 4 beams girders at top. Two items are included supporting beams girders at the bottom with the flexibility to adjust its vertical position. The specimen under test is kept on these beams. There are array of equispaced drilled holes on the columns and these are items with prior usage to adjust the height of the specimen under test. There exists a reaction beam mounted below top beam/ girders. Hydraulic jack is attached to the reaction beam facing downwards. The jack assembly has a provision to relocate into x guidance and the reaction beam can be moved in thus enabling, Y direction the provision of moving the hydraulic loading jack in any point inside the frame structure.
