Bone mineral density can be gauged by various techniques, One technique is by ultrasound of the heel bone and comparing results with general population. Other method is by x rays. For this x, Rays of various parts in this, Are undertaken machine we use x rays of of non dominant hand. This x ray film is compared with reference database of indian population and the results are computed by the computer. Bone mineral density is estimated using metacarpals 2, 3 and 4.
